Agreed. This is too small of a world for us to be pompous about our
position, as we see it. Those that don't have what we have or perceive what
we have as being "a spoiled, entitled, ignorant and Godless people" have
very long memories and our attitude makes us easy to hate. I have no wish
to be the ugly American. That kind of mindset might have been overlooked
decades ago, but now.....I sure hope we've grown.
As far as the socialist aspect of Europe, sure much of Europe has gone to
the Euro, but when you think about it, it makes sense. The countries are
too small, in today's world economy, to count for much on the world market
individually, but together, they have power. Remember, the dollar is
considerably weaker now than it was less than ten years ago, when the Euro
started. I don't call that socialism, I call that good business sense.
