Judy - talking about toe jam would be more exciting to me than one
more thread about politics.
I can't really relate to internet romances as I got more into the
internet *after* I was already spoken for. I imagine it's as good as
any other way to meet people nowadays as long as one is careful.
I met all my boys/men the old-fashioned way - thru friends, in social
places etc. But one time I decided to try the personal ads just for
the helluvit. What a disaster. I met two of the three prospects at
malls in my area so I'd be in a public place. The first apparently
thought I was the greatest thing since sliced bread - he was nice
enough but he seemed much younger than me (emotionally) and his
interests weren't mine. The second one was very good looking and was
from Australia if I remember. But it soon became clear to me that he
was less interested in me and more interested coming back to see my
etchings - *wink wink*. As I peeled out of the parking lot I almost
ran him over - ha ha. And the third was fascinating - but we never
met. We talked for HOURS on the phone about (mostly) movies. He was
really interesting but he never wanted to meet in person. It's always
made me wonder - did he have Acromegaly? A third eye and tail? A wife?
Never did find out and it soon wore thin and I stopped our phone
conversations. After that brief "fun" I vowed I'd had enough
experience with the personal ads and went back to the old fashioned
way again.
